Governor Appoints Mary Bernard to RI Board of Accountancy

Providence, RI – October 2009 – Governor Donald Carcieri appointed Mary F. Bernard, CPA, Tax Principal, to serve on the Rhode Island State Board of Accountancy. Mary has over 25 years of experience in tax planning and compliance and specializes in helping clients with multi-state tax issues. She will be an asset to the Board and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Mary’s professional accomplishments include past president of the Rhode Island Society of CPA’s (RISCPA), member of the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s (MSCPA) and a Professional Advisory Council Member to the Rhode Island Foundation.

The Board of Accountancy administers the licensing of certified public accountants, public accountants, partnerships, corporations and sole proprietorships. The Board’s duties also include processing applications and fees, as well as issuing license certificates and permits.
